For the first time, Israel treated patients who suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder with MDMA-assisted psychotherapy in February of this year. This was part of the Phase 3 trials of MDMA, which are a part of a research initiative being carried out in collaboration with the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (“MAPS”), which is based in the United States. Marijuana reform advocates in Oregon had separate measures on the ballot that called for the legalization of psilocybin mushrooms for therapeutic use and the decriminalization of the possession of all drugs on election day.
